The Workshop was a great success
A big thanks to Susan Mason, our workshop director, for such a fantastic workshop with Vicki Boeckman and Rotem Gilbert! Over forty people attended the workshop, which was followed by a dazzling concert. Susan Mason wishes to specially thank Rosellen Gates, Gloria Martin, and Sally Innes for their help in making this year’s workshop a smooth-running and meaningful event.

Werner Icking Music Archive no Longer Available.
The Werner Icking Music Archive (WIMA) has been a valuable source for free PDF files or recorder music for several years. Unfortunately, it has suddenly (and without notice) lost its server. Since 2007 WIMA has been hosted by DAIMI (The Dept. of Computer Science, University of Aarhus, Denmark). Unfortunately this has suddenly stopped. It has been learned the DAIMI staff, without warning, disabled WIMA’s part of the DAIMI web server. The apparent reason is that WIMA is causing a too high load on DAIMI's web servers, threatening the faculty activities. The ARS and other recorder enthusiasts are looking into other ways to host this service. Until then, the WIMA is no longer available.
Sad farewell to Harmonia Baroque
We just received a note from Marika Frankl that the Harmonia Baroque Players - after 26 years of giving concerts series - is quitting with this season. We will miss them.

Volunteers Needed to Bring Refreshments at Meetings
Our VPs in charge of hospitality, Sally Innes and Nichole Cosgrove, encourage you to add your name to the signup list for refreshments. We have slots to fill. Remember, “If you can eat, you can bring.” We also accept monetary donations to pay for the food. Thanks!
Come Early to the OCRS Meeting and Enjoy the Musical Prelude!
This season, we are continuing our practice of beginning each meeting (from 7:20 to 7:30 p.m.) with a short prelude concert by an individual member or ensemble. We encourage you or your ensemble to perform—this is an outstanding opportunity to get performance experience before a friendly audience. We ask that your performance not exceed 10 minutes from set up to applause, and that you or your ensemble perform only once during the year.
There will be a signup sheet at our regular meetings for those interested in presenting a prelude or contact Oksana Orel or Jo Redmon to sign up. Don’t be Shy!
